Swine flu cases up to 298 in Wisconsin

Milwaukee County has more than half of state’s afflicted

(AP) — Health officials say there are now 298 confirmed and 36 probable cases of swine flu in Wisconsin.

That’s up from 233 confirmed and 35 probable cases Thursday.

The state Department of Health Services says Milwaukee County, the state’s most populous, has the most cases — 159 confirmed and 36 probable.

Officials continue recommending anyone with flu-like symptoms stay home from work or school to slow the spread of disease.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports 1,639 confirmed cases and two deaths nationwide. Cases have been confirmed in 43 states.
