Student behavior gains donations

As support for the University from the State of Wisconsin continues to wane, resulting in hefty increases in tuition, the University of Wisconsin Foundation is challenged to increase gift support for need-based student financial aid. Contrary to the beliefs of some, the Foundation receives very little unrestricted support that can be channeled to this purpose. Donors invariably designate their gifts for specific goals and activities.

Students can help or hinder this process. This letter intends to offer a hearty "THANK YOU" to our students for a sane Halloween celebration. It's great to have a good time and to send a message to our friends and alumni that good times and responsibility are not mutually exclusive.

Now, if we can just get rid of that sophomoric cheer between Sections "O" and "P" at Camp Randall Stadium, the message would be complete.

Thanks again. We'll do our best to help.

Now if we could only get rid of administrators who are trying to turn UW into Bob Jones University….
