My first visit to Madison blew me away. Though our Spartans fell to the Badgers in four quarters of edge-of-your-seat, hard-fought football, the game wasn’t the only impressive display in town. Even with blank expectations, I was surprised to encounter Madisonians, one after another, with nothing but positive and engaging things to say to the visiting Spartan fans. The welcoming and conversational nature of these students, alumni and fans — before and after the game — showed true and genuine sportsmanship.
The City of Madison has not only reason to be proud of their No. 5 Badgers, but also with the class that they exude in hosting their fellow Big Ten school. I came to Madison a die-hard MSU fan — and left a fan of Badger fans. Great job, Madison.

As an MSU alum living in Madison for the last ten years I am sure as hell glad that I did not enroll here for my undergraduate….I would not have made it out of here alive. The kids here have way too many fun activities at their disposal.

He obviously was not called an asshole and did not have beer dumped onto his head. You’re slipping, Madison.

It’s cuz he’s from MSU, possibly home of the least annoying traveling fans. If it had been a Hawkeye, Buckeye or Illini supporter I’m sure his time here would have sucked because he would have antagonized everyone he saw.

why do we have to be assholes to traveling fans. I have traveled to many away games in basketball, hockey, and football. Nothing frustrates me more than when I am minding my own business and I get harassed for simply wearing red. Now, if they start it, well..then they deserve the hate. So let them make the first move, then unleash hell, at least now they have asked for it.
