Expose Obama’s dark affiliations

It is possible to determine how a person will behave in the future based on how they have behaved in the past.

It seems to me this should be something everyone can agree upon, but lately, when it comes to a certain candidate, people would rather shove their heads in the sand than confront the past. Democrats will have you believe we canforsee a John McCain presidency based on the reckless presidency of George W. Bush, an entirely different person. But when it comes to Barack Obama, it is completely absurd to imply his past interactions might in any way predict his future ones. Any mention of unsavory characters or bad judgment and critics are disregarded and met with irrelevant arguments such as, “Obama was 8 years old when William Ayers committed terrorist acts.”

It doesn’t matter how old Obama was when Bill and Bernardine were doing their thing. What matters is the connection to Ayers is one of a string of connections to radical figures and radical thinking. This doesn’t present a problem because Ayers was a terrorist or because Jeremiah Wright hates his country — it is a problem because it proves Obama is comfortable among a level of leftist radicalism the vast majority of Americans, Democrat or Republican, would not tolerate.

Obama is a self-proclaimed disciple of the teachings of Saul Alinsky, a radical socialist who believed in obtaining power through whatever means possible, even if it meant utilizing democratic framework, to gain the means of establishing a socialist regime. Alinsky used community organizing to “rub raw the sores of discontent” and made vague promises of “change” to obtain his goals, which where then perpetuated in Chicago community organizing after his time. Guess who adhered to Alinsky’s socialist principles during his days as a community organizer? It’s no mistake the basis of Alinsky’s method sounds strikingly familiar to the basis of the presidential campaign of Barack Obama.

Alinsky’s method of agitation used churches in the Chicago area as sources of supporters and goods, even though he himself was an atheist. This deceitful tactic was adopted by Barack Obama and was how he came to find himself in church — the church of Jeremiah Wright. It had nothing to do with being a Christian. I think we all know enough about Wright to conclude he is a nut who breeds hatred, and that Obama clearly had no problem with Wright’s perspective before he ran for president.

But Obama’s radical leanings continue past Alinksy, Ayers, Wright and Dohrn, in case that’s not enough. In the early ’90s, Obama worked closely alongside ACORN activist Madeline Talbott to pressure banks into giving high-risk loans to low-income households with bad credit. Obama wasn’t just associated with this endeavor — he helped fund it and trained those who did it. We all know what these sub-prime mortgages have meant for our economy and for those currently experiencing foreclosures.

Whenever an example of Obama’s flirtations with radicalism is brought up, fervent supporters immediately excuse it. And to a certain extent, they are right — Obama’s acquaintance with Ayers alone does not reveal much. But when you consider all Obama’s questionable acquaintances of the past, it starts to resemble less of an unfortunate coincidence and more of a reliable pattern. If anyone is taking a leap of faith in November, I’d say it’s the discontented Obama supporter hoping for change — we sure haven’t seen any evidence of it yet.

… and just like that Students for McCain jumped the shark.

Enjoy your time with the CRs, ISO, CAN, and the other wingnut crazy political groups on campus.

Please stop giving Katie Nix space in the paper. Make her stand on Library Mall and yell at passersby like the rest of the crazies do.

What is the “it” we haven’t seen evidence of yet, Katie? We have seen evidence that, he thinks things through and doesn’t just careen from one idea to another in hopes of short-term gain. He also will talk to people who disagree with him. Things will change under Obama —- even you must believe it or you wouldn’t be so scared of what is coming.

Alinsky was a man of high integrity, with a great belief in mobilizing the poor and disenfranchised to participate in our democracy. That’s why conservatives hate him. More than anything else, conservatives don’t want their vote to be canceled out by their janitor.

Here is what Alinsky was about: teaching people how to boycott, protest and threaten the economically and politically powerful in order to get what they want.

He was not a socialist — he was in search of social justice.

You do him and Obama a great disservice. When the election is over and your side loses (which it will), I hope you will put everything you have into helping Obama succeed. He needs us all to do it. Rush and his crowd will go off and do their thing — maybe the rest of us can save the U.S. from Rush’s egotistical ‘good intentions.’

So, how about that Savings and Loan scandal, of which McCain was a part, that cost tax payers billions? And that recent ethics investigation that Joe-Six-Figure-Wardrobe Palin was wrapped up in?

user-pic

Wow, apparently co-chairs get really snarky (that’s a generous word for it) when the person they have invested vast ammmounts of time in is screwing up his caimpaign. Feel all that hard work flying out the window? I hope you’re proud of your canidate who has abaondoned his values and country for last minute character jabs. At least my canidate has values and sticks to them. Go talk to Joe the Plummer, he might still be listening to your never ending squawking!

Who donated $$ and gave a keynote speech at an ACORN event? Oh yeahhhhh, it was John “Keating 5” McCain, Mr Flip-Flopper. There’s a nice video on YouTube.

Nobody except some frothing-at-the-mouth Republicans have ever cared about Ayers. Why not practice what the more classy members of your party are preaching and “Nix” this losing smear tactic??? Poll after poll shows it has failed to gain any traction but yet you keep wasting your campaign efforts on the negativity. Very sad.

user-pic

John McCain used to pal around with the Vietnamese. I wonder if his PTSD will affect his leadership?

P.S. Why won’t Palin say that abortion clinic bombers are terrorists too?

Demo-rats and Repuglicans have controlled Washington for over a hundred years and this country hasn’t had a decent day since. I say throw ‘em all out by voting for third party candidates. BTW, I’m really ticked off at Obama for voting for that bailout. That’s $835 billion out of our pockets! Anyone notice that the week after the bailout vote, Obama changed his campaign slogan from “Change We Can Believe In” to “Change We Need”? Why did he feel that was so necessary?

Bob Barr on Nov. 4!

I didn’t even bother reading the rest of your article. I’m sure you decided to post your title as Co-chair of students from McCain because otherwise it would have read something like this “Katie Nix is a freshman majoring in poli-sci and history blah blah blah” Your article is just another regurgitated turd that hides bigotry under the facade of logic. By the way, I’m not calling you a bigot, I’m calling whoever has the stomach to read through your inane thought process a bigot. Katie, my dear…What I get from this message is that you don’t actually believe in second chances, and that’s just sad. Your writing is deeply reflective of your inner self, and so far all I can see is a scared little child. You think about that time when you were humiliated and see the rest of your life as a gauntlet of shame that you will never escape. P.S How in the world did you ever get a job writing!?

user-pic

OMG!! Obama and Alinsky are scary non-WASPy names!! lets say them a lost without substance and hope they scare people!!

Alinsky was a great man, he talked about being a radical, someone who changes the system from with in the system. This means he thought the American system worked, he just wanted more people involved in it.

As for his work with the churches, Alinsky started out in criminology and worked with the churches to have youth programing so that kids were not out doing crime. I’m sorry you think a community organized church lead baseball league is a terrorist training camp. Alinsky’s books in fact are not theory or ideology, he avoided that, but instead a primer of tactics and strategy. His tactics and reasoning exist sans ideology, a socialist and fascist could equal gain from use of them.

At this point it is clear you cannot win by pushing McCain’s positives so you are trying to win by pushing Obama’s negatives. However, you have failed to pick up on any of this true negatives and instead wasted your political capital on lies. This country is a center right country, just look at how Clinton ran things. Instead of running center right and winning the Republicans have given up on the economy and run on fear and religious issues.

I’d like to point out that John McCain’s middle name is Sidney. That’s a girl’s name. An old grizzled ‘Nam vet— or a girl… who is the REAL John McCain.

It will be interesting to see what a Communist President does once he is in power.

I think that those who will be most surprised by what Obama does will be those who voted for him.

Change? Yeah, there will be change alright.

See China - Great Leap Forward or Stalin - Five Year Plans for details.

Maybe we’ll be lucky and it will just be like the Chicago Machine writ large.

Just a Little Genocide

I asked, “well what is going to happen to those people we can’t reeducate, that are diehard capitalists?” and the reply was that they’d have to be eliminated.

And when I pursued this further, they estimated they would have to eliminate 25 million people in these reeducation centers.

And when I say “eliminate,” I mean “kill.”

Twenty-five million people.

I want you to imagine sitting in a room with 25 people, most of which have graduate degrees, from Columbia and other well-known educational centers, and hear them figuring out the logistics for the elimination of 25 million people.

And they were dead serious.

This was the testimony of FBI informant Larry Grathwohl in the 1982 documentary No Place to Hide.

The 25 people plotting the extermination of the 25 million Americans who would bitterly cling to the American way of life?

The Weather Underground, led by Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn.

The genocide of 25 million Americans for daring to cling to the American way of life was just part of their reeducation plan for a communist America.

I do not expect you to take my word for it. Watch the documentary clip above. And if there are those of you who don’t trust Grathwohl despite the lives he’s saved foiling at least two Weathermen attempts at mass murder, you can simply see what Ayers and Dohrn wrote, in their own words.

Zombie has found an extremely rare, out of print edition of Prairie Fire, the communist manifesto authored by Ayers and Dohrn as they bombed their way across America.

Read the report for yourself.

You’ll be stunned at the depth of the seething hatred of the United States and our way of life contained in these pages, and wonder how the protg of these traitors, people who formally declared war against our nation and plotted murders on scale four times greater than the Holocaust, ever became the Democratic nominee for President of the nation they so loathe that they went to war against it.

Ms. Nix is an embarassment. Plain and simple. Her article deserves no response as it is closer to a Nazi Germany level of propaganda than it is to journalism. Pathetic.

Sarah Palin palls around with secessionists.

Alaska Independence Party. Google it.

user-pic

You know who else are socialists? Churches and charities are always spreading their wealth around, taking money from the rich and helping the poor and needy.

user-pic

What about Charles Keating, Reverend Hagee, or Gordon G. Liddy?

Jesus tittie-fuckin’ Christ, this is pathetic. Is that all you have left? Name calling? Pathetic associations?

Give me a break. Do you REALLY want to start a discussion of the candidates associates? OK, you’re on.

Do you know what I question? I question a candidate who thanks a certain Reverend and claims to be “proud to have Reverend Hagee’s support,” this Reverend who has KNOWN anti-Catholic, anti-Jewish and anti-homosexual views, who thinks that Hurricane Katrina was punishment to New Orleans for having a gay parade? How about that?

How are those situations different? Neither you nor me were at any of those sermons for that period of time so we cannot judge. From what I gather, Rev. Wright rarely had those anti-American diatribes, though Hagee has confirmed his beliefs that gays are evil, etc. Katie, when it comes down to it, all pastors (and organized religion, for that matter) is a little nutty, but that’s a discussion for another time.

Here’s a little tidbit on Bill Ayers: Uhm, Obama was not the only person living in that neighborhood. If Obama is guilty of ‘terrorist’ ties (which Ayers is hardly), then so is every other American citizen living in that neighborhood. I honestly have more respect for Bill Ayers than I do you, Sarah Palin, or anyone else that incites such hatred amongst a constituency. Bill Ayers did despicable things in the 60s and 70s, of which he apologized for. Before you take a quote out of context, he said “we should have done more” as in WE, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE in regards to bring OUR SOLDIERS HOME (one of those soldiers being John McCain!). If you want to take HIS word (and not FOXNews’), visit his blog.

Again, that leads me to another question: How can he (John McCain) claim to be friends with G. Gordon Liddy, a known criminal? That amazes me. (In case you are unaware, which I am sure you are since I have YET to see FOXNews cover THIS story, Liddy is the guy that orchestrated the Watergate break in, and went to prison.)

It amazes me that even at this point, you continue to display the ignorant hypocrisy rampant in the GOP campaign. McCain is no more guilty of attending sermons of wacky preachers than Obama. McCain is no more guilty of having questionable connections than Obama. The ONLY difference is that while Obama has said that both Ayers and Rev. Wright’s views do NOT represent him and they are despicable, McCain has yet to do that, even going as far as to say that he and G. Gordon Liddy are FRIENDS!

Speaking of not answering questions; how do you feel now that John McCain is a socialist? I am sure you watched the numerous videos that are posted on youtube; care to actually discuss something of negativity pertaining to McCain or are you just going to keep riding the self-righteous Republican bandwagon? McCain has, in time BEFORE PRIMARY SEASON, stated that he supports RAISING TAXES FOR THE WEALTHY, quite similiar to Obama’s “socialist” views. Seriously, GTFO, I know more about your candidate than you do.

Neither Barack or John are socialist, so please, let’s stop insinuating the ridiculous.

I don’t condone Ayers’ actions or Wright’s beliefs, however I will say that Ayers has certainly contributed to America in the aspect of helping eradicate poverty and helping reform public education, and I would also say that Reverend Wright has a little bit of a reason to be upset with much of America’s policies and treatment of African Americans in the last century, but that’s just me. I cannot, however, understand why McCain said he was “proud” to have Hagee’s endorsement, or how he can consider a known criminal his friend.

Your lack of rebuttal to any prior comments makes it apparent that you don’t actually know any of the issues I raised about McCain’s connection to a crazy pastor and known criminal. I wish I lived under the rock you did; ignorance is bliss.

Consider yourself served.

It’s kinda sad how the CRs have been reduced to Katie and Sara writing the same editorials every week for the Herald and the Cardinal.

“It is possible to determine how a person will behave in the future based on how they have behaved in the past.”

But not true, Ms. Nix. I used to spend all day shitting my diaper and sucking on my mother’s tit. Twenty years later and I rarely do either of those.

user-pic

LULZ, she and Mikolajczak are two nutbag peas in a pod.

Obama was, what, eight when Ayers did his terrorizing? Also, his ‘affiliations’ are more like ‘past associations’ and they’re a little loose.

Also, Todd and Sarah are way closer to being terrorists (AIP!) than Barack Obama ever was.

Also, did you know Al Qaeda supports McCain?

Also, 10:18 - what the fuck does this have to do with modern times and Obama? You obviously haven’t looked deeply enough into Obama’s connections with Ayers.

Seriously, the conservatards are just getting dumber and dumber. Admit it, Republicans: you lost the election before November 4.

user-pic

John McCain wouldn’t support Scanner Dan.

Fuck you.

user-pic

Really? Saul Alinsky was a radical socialist who used the church to take power?

Wrong.

Alinsky wanted to organize Chicago in order to help people get more involved with the political system in order to benefit their lives. How interesting that a Republican would think that’s dangerous.

Republicans think that “spreading the wealth” is a bad thing. God forbid we live in a country where everyone can afford a house, instead of a select class being able to afford 7. Would it be such an awful thing if all Americans could afford to clothe their families instead of the elite few being able to spend 150,000 on their own wardrobe.

Instead of using scare tactics and blatant lies to try to get more support for McCain, maybe Repubs should try taking a real look at their own party and the excess and recycled policies. There’s a reason Obama is ahead in the polls, he has real ideas for the country that are a great change from the same failed policies of the last 8 years.

user-pic

“[Obama] doesn’t just careen from one idea to another in hopes of short-term gain”

umm. yes he does. -FISA (that was fricking hilarious. after promising to vote no in order to appease the radical civil libertarians that Hillary lost, he voted for it.) -After campaigning as THE anti-war candidate in order to gain, among others, Code Pink support, he changed his stance to say that he would stay in Iraq on the advice of the generals on the ground. -As a state senator, when he was pressed about a certain vote, he claimed he had pressed the wrong button. He did this five times. That is the epitome of careening from one side to another just to get a short-term gain.

user-pic

I also heard he plans to turn the White House into a pyramid…

user-pic

this is a pathetic article. of course leave it up to the “straight talk (express)” backwards republican to try and squeeze out as many insults as possible before the election. BOO-URNS.

user-pic

In my organizing days I used to pal around with people like Katie. They spewed some hateful nonsense that I didn’t agree with, but I ignored it and worked with them on issues that united us. In the West, there are a lot of Katie’s out there—-very conservative people who had misimpressions of liberals like me. They’re mostly good people, and once they came to know me, they thought I was good people, too. We worked on keeping nuclear and hazardous wastes out of mostly Republican-dominated areas of the West, and were mostly successful. There is much more that unites us than divides us, and Katie may actually learn that lesson once Obama is elected.

user-pic

Its time for change Katie my dear, and I see absolutely nothing wrong with being radical. We want change? Well we better be willing to fight for it.

For those who are unaware the Weather Underground died. Ayers has matured since his youth, as most people do. It was a highly passionate time in American history, and Ayers passions were running just like everyone else. But that’s okay to me. Dissent is the purest form of democracy, and I’m glad that Ayers had the balls to show his rather than sticking to the status quo. Ayers messed up, he went too far, that’s true, but that was in a time apart from now. Right now? Well isn’t Palin supportive of the Alaskan Independence party? Isn’t her husband one of the BP (British Petroleum) elite, and isn’t it BP that is supporting her campaign (shows you who’s interests she’ll be fighting for)? Didn’t George W. Bush lead us to a completely unnecessary illegal war in Iraq to protect the oil supply? Didn’t McCain support that? By the sixth anniversary coming this year won’t we all have contributed upwards of 3 million to it? Hmmm …. seems to me that everyone makes mistakes.

Focus on the politics, please. I’m really sick of these personal attacks as I’m sure many more are.

P.S. The negative attacks obviously haven’t helped McCain in the polls so maybe his most avid supporters should take note and move their campaigning in a different direction if they want to feel like they’re getting something accomplished.

user-pic

“Sarah Palin palls around with secessionists.”

If McCain or Obama gets elected, I will become a secessionist.

user-pic

If Obama is a socialist, doesn’t that mean McCain is a feudalist? I mean, isn’t that what you call it when you take taxes from the poor and middle class and give the proceeds to the obscenely wealthy?

I knew McCain was old, but damn!

user-pic

McCain’s relationship with Obama is closer than Obama’s relationship with Ayers, so if Obama is a terrorist, McCain is too.

And McCain has received millions of dollars from the Annenberg Foundation over the course of his career. You know who sits on the board of the Annenberg Foundation? William Ayers. Why is John McCain taking money from terrorists?

user-pic

College Republicans, take the next 10 days or so to REALLY think about John McCain becoming your party’s standard-bearer. Think about how poorly he’s managed his campaign, probably how poorly he’ll manage the country, and the damage he’s already caused to the GOP.

Do you really want him to be the guy steering the Republican ship? If you’re satisfied with McCain as your standard-bearer, you should expect the party to split into social (authoritarian) and economic (libertarian) conservative camps; they’ll never be united again.

The Obamessiah not only condones Leftist-fascist violence, the Annointed/Uniter/One commanded it (i.e., “get in their faces”). And his fascists minions have dutifully obey.

The evidence is absolutely damning. From their hate-America riots to their RNC Welcoming Committee terrorist plot, to their beatings and maulings of McCain backers…

“The rage that’s not on your front page” http://townhall.com/columnists/MichelleMalkin/2008/10/15/theragethatsnotonyourfront_page

Try posting similar examples from the conservative side. They can’t… so just STFU with the “both sides” Obamedia false narrative.

Despite inheriting the Clinton’s 2000 market crash/recession, $1T+ losses on 9/11, Global War, African AIDS relief, Tsunami relief, Hurricane relief, etc., ad nauseum… Crisis after crisis, President Bush again and again faithfully shepparded this country back to peace and prosperity. And we’ve had no further attacks on US soil since 9/11, thanks to President Bush.

Now, only two (2!) years of Pelosi-Obama-Reid (POR) Congressional control and America stares into the abyss— and Leftards still advocate giving these socialists ABSOLUTE control of our country? Congress? Executive? and Judiciary?

Welcome to Jimmy Carter II. No wonder global markets are shuddering. If you think these socialists are heralding peace and prosperity, then you’re utterly delusional.

Pelosi-Obama-Reid (POR) Economy— Very Poor http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/the-por-pelosi-obama-reid-economy-very-poor/

Do NOT vote these Leftist-fascists into office, America. Your children may not survive to regret it.

Nice try at whitewashing history, Obamaton toadies. Grade: F-

As an UNREPENTANT terrorist kingpin responsible for plotting mass murder at Ft. Dix and the Pentagon, Bill Ayers and his wife should have been executed. Instead, academia tries to laud this Charlie Manson wannabee as some kind of scholar.

It is Obama (not McCain) who instigates violence. Witness Obama’s command to “get in their face”; the RNC Welcoming Committee terrorist plot; the multiple assaults on RNC delegates; the krystalnaght-style gutter riots; etc., ad nauseum.

But what do Americans expect from an Obama campaign that allies itself with ACORN bank extortionists and the unrepentant terrorist/gang-rapist, Bill Ayers?

Bill Ayers gang-raped co-ed http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=77407

You know what I’m sick of? Smug, lying Leftist-fascists who support the politically corrupt and violence prone Obama/Biden ticket.

user-pic

The Weather Underground did have some idiots blow themselves up (with a bomb that they intended to use at an Army dance). They also successfully bombed the NY police HQ in June of 1970. Ayers did not just turn himself in with his wife - they were on the run until 1980. Ayers may no longer be a member of the Weathermen, but (in a 2006 interview) he said “the Weather Underground was a great teaching moment” and “and there’s no question that when we left the underground, we lost something valuable — we lost our treasure.” Doesn’t sound repentant to me. Liberals need to face facts, and stop screaming “racist” and “hate” every time somebody criticizes Obama and his supporters (of which Ayers clearly is, other than in the opinions of idiots).

user-pic

There’s nothing “new” about today’s Leftists. It’s the same old brownshirt, socialist thuggery from the 1st true youth movements of the early 20th century (Italian and German fascism) extending to the Leftist-fascism of 60s “radicals” like Bill Ayers and the Weathermen. They just can’t tolerate the free speech of others without resorting to violence.

Witness these Leftist-fascist thugs assaulting pro-America marchers during the 2008 RNC convention (below hyperlinked).

“Video: Leftist-fascists assault pro-RNC marchers” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aM3w9jeugkE

Own it, Senator Barry Soetoro (aka, B. Hussein Obama II).

user-pic

The Obamessiah told his followers to “get in their faces”… and that’s precisely what his Leftist-fascist toadies doing all across this country.

Hyperlinked below is yet another example of Unhinged Hate from liberal “tolerant” Manhattan.

Obama backer assaults McCain volunteer… Media Silent http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/obama-supporter-assaults-female-mccain-volunteer-in-new-york/2/

This is how the victim describes it:

I said, “What are you doing? You can’t do that!” And he was red in the face screaming, “You people are ridiculous!” And I said, “Yeah, whatever, but you can’t do that.”

So I reached for the sign that he ripped up, and he grabbed another sign, broke it, and ripped it to shreds. And when I said, “You can’t do that,” he took the stick from the sign and started beating me on the head with it. He broke the skin on my head, he scratched my wrist, and almost broke my glasses, and then he left.

I followed him down the stairs to the subway until I could get the police and I said, “You’re not going to get away with it.” And as soon as he saw the police he immediately went calm. He still had the stick in his hand, and you could see the injury on my face, and he admitted it. He was arrested. He actually said, “I don’t know why I did this. It’s just those signs, and this election, it has me so upset.”

Some people are losing control, and it’s not the people on the right. Never have I seen that behavior with any of the people on my side of the fence. … It’s just not our way. Look at us, most of us have never been protesters. … Do I feel that the left is aggressive and potentially violent? Yes, because we’ve all seen it. I certainly have … firsthand!

user-pic

Every time I turn on the internet these days, it seems like another right wing blogger is digging up more baloney on Professor Bill Ayers. Apparently these people would rather talk about Bill Ayers’ passionate youthful rambunctiousness than the issues that really matter to us, like Sarah Palin’s shoe bill. Well, I’ve got a message for you, Mister Google cache McCarthy fascist: I’m mad as H-E-double sippy straws, and I’m not going to take it any more. No longer will not remain silent while you smear and slur this great America-hating American with his own quotes. Hear me now: when you mess with Bill Ayers, you’re messing with me.

Because I AM BILL.

I AM BILL. I am the everyday forgotten little guy in your neighborhood, the quiet anarcho-syndicalist family man who gets up early and punches the clock at the local state university, writing the manifestos and polemics and grant proposals that keep America humming. I’m just doing my job, and all I ask in return is a little respect. And tenure. And Chicago Citizen of the Year awards. And two graduate assistants to grade exams for Practicum in Imperialist Racist Hegemony 311, because I’m teaching two sections this semester. Also, a sabbatical to Italy next summer would be nice.

I AM BILL. I grew up in a simple little gated community just like yours, with white picket fences and where all the aux pairs and gardeners know your name. When my dad came home from a hard day’s work as a CEO, he was never too tired to help me with my homework or tousle my hair for winning the Lake Forest Academy essay contest on Hegelian Dialectics. Yes, he was a simpleminded bourgeois technocrat of the capitalist war machine, but he made sure I got the tuition and tutors and sailing lessons and allowance I needed to make it on my own. I wish he was still alive so I could tell him how much I really planned to kill him last.

I AM BILL. I work with my hands, grizzled and calloused from years on a non-ergonomic keyboard. Maybe I don’t know pipe wrenches, but I know pipe bombs, and I’ve built them right there in my communal kitchen and I’ve watched with pride as they’ve offed a couple of pigs. Sure, maybe I’ve made a few mistakes with wiring or detonator timing and it ends up killing a couple of comrades. But you know what? I get up, dust myself off, and get right back to the drawing board. Because when it comes to international Maoist revolution, quitters never win and winners never quit.

I AM BILL. I love traveling the highways and byways of this great, puke-inducing country we call America, visiting its police stations and ROTC buildings and legislative halls. And when the pigs finally catch up with me and dad hires a legal team to get me off on a technicality, it lets me know that yes, Bill, you can go home again… http://iowahawk.typepad.com/iowahawk/2008/10/i-am-bill.html

At some point during the wee hours of the morning, supporters of opponent Barack Obama attacked a private home in Prince George’s County, Md., defacing the house, an RV, a truck cover, and a two foot by eight foot yard sign. Apparently, the home owner was a registered Democrat and the local Obama fans were none to pleased with his decision to back McCain.

“I understand that in every election there are incidents where campaign signs on both sides are removed, torn down and defaced,” said Mykel Harris, Republican Central Committee Chair for Prince George’s County in a statement to the media. “But rarely do the perpetrators proceed to deface your home and personal property in your yard.”

Harris called on elected officials, law enforcement, and appointed election officials take matters like these seriously and demanded that “persons found violating the civil rights of others via sign vandalism, voter registration fraud, or political intimidation pay a terrible price.”

Katie, I am suddenly tired. Tired of bashing my head against the brick-wall of your inane opinions. I’m tired of half the country being backwards xenophobic, homophobic uneducated trash. I’m tired of the fact that an election which should clearly be a runaway with Barack Obama sweeping the states is as close as it is.

I’m tired of shrill nitwits (like you) constantly regurgitating talking points that are demonstrably false and should never be taken seriously for a moment and I’m tired of the fact that Obama is forced to address these points which are so far below his dignity and the dignity of the nation that it shames us all. I’m tired of the fact that the thing we call political discourse in this country would be laugh at in any other civilized nation on the planet. I’m tired of the fact that the out of control mud-slinging and character assassinations are the fault of your party over the last few decades and nobody seems to call them on it.

I’m tired of the fact that the GOP is allowed to get away with blind pandering by nominating a completely unqualified person to the office of vice-presidency. I’m tired of the fact that not only can people take things like “the media is liberal!” with bursting out laughing but the fact that so many people actually sincerely believe it. I’m tired of the useless excuse for a media we have in the country.

I’m tired of many other things too but I find I’m suddenly too tired to even talk about them.

Get bent.

So which is it, guys? He’s not a socialist, or he’s a socialist but so what, churches are socialist, too- Pick one and stick with it.

BTW, churches don’t TAKE money and give it to the poor, the money is GIVEN to them to give to the poor. There’s a fundamental diff between taking and giving freely that you guys don’t seem to be able to distinguish.

i actually have to say i agree with this last post more than most i have read. the mechanics made it almost impossible to decipher but from what i think they are trying to say, i couldn’t agree more: in an ideal world, we could start over and put all new people in congress. unfortunately the only way to uproot everything is to vote for the other team, which no one will ever do because of partisanship. i am under no illusions that mccain is perfect, that he has never accepted money from special interests, or that he has never done anything corrupt. i just think, being realistic, that when you weigh the costs and the benefits of each candidate, mccain comes oout ahead. but maybe i should just go out to library mall and scream about it :) Katie

A thought: if we have a Republican president and a Democratic congress, nothing will get done.

If we have a Democratic president and a Democratic congress, they can do ANYTHING they want.

So, I figure, does it matter what McCain promises? He won’t be able to make good on them unless they’re so stellar everyone agrees they’re necessary.

Obama, on the other hand, will be able to pass anything he likes. He can get anything through without much of a contest. I’ll be honest, I side with him on many issues, like women’s rights and education (no child left behind SUCKS). But, there are some policies of his I think shouldn’t pass without a fight, like his tax cut (44% of the people who get a tax “rebate” already don’t pay any income tax at all—sound fair?)

Plus, the media never tells the whole story. When I checked candidates’ web sites, I was surprised to find that McCain’s stance on the environment is way more comprehensive than Obama’s. Then again, Obama has some interesting ideas about community service and service learning—which I’d never heard about. Who knew?

Do some real research, guys. Forget Ayers, forget ‘Nam, forget his rockstar image, forget his crotchety-old-man image. Find out what the candidates REALLY believe, not what people tell you they want, then think about how much of it they can get done. It’s the only way to decide.

Do NOT vote these Leftist-fascists into office, America. Your children may not survive to regret it.

Douchetastic, 2:08. Could you have used the word “fascist” any more times without actually making a point?

McCain is losing — he will lose. Dems will control the Senate and the House.

Let’s hope they balance the budget, smash the Taliban, disband Al-Queda and find Osama. Every time the Republicans run things, they spend recklessly on their pet causes but won’t raise the funds (taxes and fees) to pay for it.

You and me and everyone else pays a special tax for Medicare and Social Security. Democrats want to save that system. Republicans want to use it to overpay Halliburton and Bechtel to run our war. They don’t have the courage to tell Grandma that she can’t have her Social Security check so they just keep borrowing from other countries to pay our bills.

They tell you that they can’t tax corporations because the corporations just pass the cost on to the consumer… while paying the CEO 400-million whether he deserves it or not — Republicans don’t support tying executive compensation to some multiple of the average worker salary because that’s Socialism!

Al Queda supports McCain; Corporate CEOs support McCain.

Stop the neo-con madness! Vote for Obama.

You know the wonderful Obama tax cut everybody’s saying is so awesome? Where 95% of Americans will get a $500 tax refund? 44% of those people DON’T PAY any federal income tax. They’re getting $500 WITHOUT contributing to the system. Does that seem fair or just to you?

“44% of those people DON’T PAY any federal income tax. They’re getting $500 WITHOUT contributing to the system. Does that seem fair or just to you?”

Absolutely untrue. Turn off Fox, stop listening to Rush and Hannity and O’Reilly.

You are spreading a huge lie. Really pathetic.

Alinsky died in 1972, when Obama was 11. It’s more likely that Obama was a deciple of Scooby-Doo than of Alinsky given that timeline. Simply because one talks to a “radical” does not make one a radical.

My former roommate is a member of a Far-right Catholic group on campus (the RCF), does this make me a far-right catholic? Nope. Get some logic.

“Turn off Fox, stop listening to Rush and Hannity and O’Reilly.”

Yeah, read ONLY the New York Times and watch ONLY the REAL TV networks. That will keep your mind on the correct path.

Once the One is enthroned He will see to the elimination of these sources of un-correct thought. Rest easy lumpen proletariat, your betters will see to your welfare.

“They’re getting $500 WITHOUT contributing to the system.”

Well, sorry their janitorial job, wal-mart job, part-time service job didn’t reach your standard of “contributing,” but someone’s got to buy the shit sold by the rich. Where on earth would they get money to patronize your fuckin’ small business? I bet $500 would buy a lot of the BS you’re selling. Perhaps it would keep your myopic ass afloat for another year.

@ 9:09

Care to explain what is untrue about that?

Dear Katie,

I have a few questions for you.

As you may already know John McCain was a U.S. Navy pilot who flew 23 bombing missions over heavily civilian populated areas of North Vietnam. On his 23rd mission, McCain bombed a power plant in the center of Hanoi. (Think of the power plant on UW campus, near the center of Madison, WI.)

While no direct evidence exists, it is virtually certain that at least some civilians were killed or injured as a direct result of the hundreds of tons of explosives McCain dropped. While McCain may have been “just following orders” and while he may not have intended to kill civilians, that does not absolve him of the predictable consequences of his actions. A person who fires a loaded gun into a crowd may fervently pray that he will hit no one; but any reasonable person in his place would surely know that there is a substantial certainty that a person will be hit.

Additionally, under the laws established at Nuremburg, it is no defense to plead that one is simply following orders.

Under international law, McCain’s actions quite arguably fall within the definitions of war crimes. They are also within the meaning of “terrorism”, as defined under Title 18 of the U.S. Code.

Katie, I would like you to contemplate the following hypothetical. Suppose that from 1966 to 1967, an officer in, say, the Libyan airforce flew 23 bombing missions over the United States. Suppose that officer dropped hundreds of tons of explosives targeting electrical power stations, truck and train depots, bridges and roads in La Crosse, Prairie du Chien, Janesville and Madison. Suppose that there was no direct evidence that any specific shell dropped by that particular pilot actually resulted in an injury or death to a civilian, but that nonetheless, hundreds of Wisconsin civilians working in or around the areas of the afore-referenced targets were injured and did die as a result of the aerial bombing missions in which our fictional Libyan pilot participated.

Now, suppose our hypothetical Libyan officer was now being championed in Libya for high political office effective 2009.

Here comes a question: Would you hesitate for one second to point to the despicable crimes — indeed, war crimes — committed by our fictional Libyan pilot as a basis for challenging his qualification to become a political leader, in Libya or any other country?

I hazard that any honest answer to these questions would produce a result that is not at all surprising. I trust that you are honest and decent, and would draw the obvious conclusion.

My final question to you then: Why would you focus so much time and energy on attempting to impugn to Sen. Obama some attenuated connection to persons who at some remote point in the past engaged in terrorist activity that is unconnected to Sen. Obama, when the candidate you endorse, Sen. McCain, participated directly and repeatedly in acts that not only fit the definition of terrorist but clearly constitute war crimes under international law?

I think your readers would appreciate a reasoned response. Thank you.

What do you think of your “Messiah” now? I think all you people who insulted Kathryn Nix about a resonable, thought-provoking article owe her an apology.
