Man up America: Cap carbon emissions

The Republican Party’s love of war and tax cuts has earned itself a reputation of being the party of manly men, as their passions get the testosterone flowing in ways the Democrats’ pet causes of universal health care and social security could only dream of. Manly men everywhere have long questioned President Barack Obama’s legitimacy as a real man of political genius because of his status as a train-loving Democrat. While they were once wary, those same men should now be downright scared, as Obama and his tree-hugger friends are about to declare war on manly men everywhere.

The Obama Administration had a big week in its coming War on Manly Men. Early last week, news was leaked that the Environmental Protection Agency was preparing to begin regulating greenhouse gases as an environmental pollutant. President Obama then proceeded to reveal his man-crush on Al Gore by including a cap-and-trade program for carbon emissions in his new budget. The proposed cap-and-trade program would require greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S. to be reduced 83 percent by 2050 through the selling of carbon emission credits.

In American culture, nothing reeks of testosterone like emitting carbon, so the future of American pastimes such as tailgating, boating, NASCAR and driving giant trucks are under attack from the nation’s new tree-hugger-in-chief.

Even during dark times, American men are an optimistic cohort — see Chicago Cubs fans — so it is a shame to see Obama give into the pessimism of the global warming doom-and-gloom crowd. True men such as James Imhofe and George Will have done yeoman’s work in proving global warming is a hoax, while all the scientists and their “scientific evidence” have tried to prove the link between greenhouse gases and increased global temperatures.

Tough guys everywhere know instituting a cap-and-trade program is a direct acknowledgment that reducing carbon emissions is an ideal that sacrifices should be made for. If greenhouse gas emissions were completely innocuous, then there would be no reason to reduce them. There is still much skepticism toward the future impacts of global warming, so proposing a cap-and-trade program that seeks to reduce carbon emissions by 80 percent by 2050 is a fairly gutsy move for the new president.

More important than simply giving credence to the “myth” of global warming is the impact a cap-and-trade program will have on the American economy. Rough and tumble American manufacturing industries have flourished during the past decades of free trade and deregulation, so taxing the emissions these industries produce has the potential to leave millions of hard-working Americans out of a job. Implementing a policy that could reverse the economic success that cities such as Detroit have had would be a direct attack on blue-collar folks across the country — right?

As the nation learned from our previous president, only real cowboys stick to their guns and do not change over time. Implicit in Obama’s cap-and-trade plan is the idea that the traditional carbon-based American economy must innovate and transform to a “green” economy. Americans have always been a nation to shrink from a national challenge, but such an undertaking would definitely require some Bush-esque leadership from Obama.

Wind power and solar power do not have the same masculine appeal as the thick black smoke of coal plants, but such a shift in energy production provides the opportunity to create new jobs and generate economic activity. Of course, a healthy dose of research and development money would go to those same scientists who have helped propagate the myth of global warming, but every man knows that for every Friday bender there is a Saturday hangover.

While people expect the wimpy tree-huggers to be big fans of a cap-and-trade program, support from some of the giants of American industry is a little more surprising. American business leaders are becoming more hip to the idea that the future of the American economy will be green, and some are even supporting Obama’s cap-and-trade proposal.

This support is not based on an ideological-kinship with Barack Gore-bama but rather a desire to make green off the green. Immediate investments in green technology will help companies prepare for the 2012 implementation of the cap-and-trade program, and knowing that green is the way of the future will allow them to prepare for a future where the Prius is the new muscle car.

Obama’s proposal for a cap-and-trade program to be implemented by 2012 is a signal that in his America, real men wear green. Although being environmentally-conscious may defy the stereotypes of what it means to be manly in America, Obama’s proposal for a cap-and-trade program for emissions is arguably the boldest environmental step taken by an American president.

I am an astronomer with a considerable scientific background. This myth of human caused global warming is just that a myth. This is a solar system wide event, with temperatures increasing on Mars as well as Neptune. The Earth as well as the entire solar system has been in a freeze for about the last one million years. Solar experts are not certain why but our sun does fluctuate in output. The natural state of our planet (for the past 300 million years) is to be ice free from pole to pole. Halt global warming? Try turning down the sun.

Where does he get this stuff? It’s like this Schuster guy writes his columns while watching the Badgers play. In conclusion, this article is dumb and Zach Schuster is a bad person.

Better get some REALLY big corks for the active volcanoes!

But then we may end up looking for as much CO2 as we can get to stave off the coming ice age.

Global warming might be a problem but global cooling would be the end of civilization.

Hehe… I love you, Zach! It’s true, Obama has the manly men shaking in their boots. All I have to say is… HA!

The planet’s fine. Get a real religion!

The hypothesis of Man Made Global Warming is in debate every single day. In US congressional testimony 2/25/09: Washington, DC Award-winning Princeton University Physicist Dr. Will Happer declared man-made global warming fears mistaken and noted that the Earth was currently in a CO2 famine now. Happer, who has published over 200 peer-reviewed scientific papers, made his remarks during todays Environment and Public Works Full Committee Hearing.” Story continues here: http://epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Minority.Blogs&ContentRecord_id=af8f5b20-802a-23ad-49fb-8a2d53f00437

In separate news: What is the source of the rise in atmospheric temperature in the second half of the 20th century? Shunichi Akasofu [Founding Director of the International Arctic Research Center of the University of Alaska Fairbanks] Japans Society of Energy and Resources dismisses the IPCC - says recent climate change is driven by natural cycles, not human industrial activity The full translation of the Japanese report is available here: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/02/25/jstorclimatereport_translation/page2.html

The tides are turning on the unproven hypothesis of Anthropogenic (read Man Made) Global Warming. Japan, the site for the “Kyoto Agreement”, is now rejecting the Man Made Global Warming hypothesis. Reason is slowly overcoming the fear mongering and obcene amounts of misspent taxpayer money.

It must. The Obama agenda to create “Cap & Trade” in “carbon offsets” for “CO2 polluters” will have a severe impact on our economy (potentially +$6 Trillion in costs, -5 million jobs, and again drive gas/diesel prices up to $5/gal). Al Gore has created his own personal +$100 million dollar business (and growing) in “carbon offset credits”.

This is being done to control an invisible, odorless, naturally occuring atmospheric trace gas that 1) all of us exhale. 2) is currently at 380 parts per million ppm (0.00038) in our atmosphere today. 3) has been at +1000 ppm many times throughout biologic/geologic time. 4) plant growth accelerates with +1000 ppm concentrations, as most greenhouse operations know, 5) navy submarine experience shows humans have no impairment from up to 8000 ppm, (that’s no typo, we evolved in much higher CO2 concentrations than 380ppm!). 6) most importantly, is a negligible variable in the planetary energy balance, from physics, chemistry, and thermodynamics perspectives.

Get informed. Speak out. Write your local, state, and federal legislators. Our financial resources are being squandered to serve a political agenda while our readily available American energy resources are being senselessly embargoed by selective science based on unreliable data and outright deceit in the ‘analyses’.

If you want to reduce your carbon foot print, wipe your feet before you come in the door. If you’re really committed, stop exhaling!

I believe that the increase of CO2 is not a cause for alarm and will be good for mankind. I predict that future historians will look back on this period much as we now view the period just before the passage of the 18th Amendment to the US Constitution to prohibit the manufacturing, sale or transportation of intoxicating liquors. At the time, the 18th amendment seemed to be exactly the right thing to do who wanted to be in league with demon rum? It was the 1917 version of saving the planet. More than half the states enacted prohibition laws before the 18th amendment was ratified. Only one state, Rhode Island, voted against the 18th amendment. Two states, Illinois and Indiana, never got around to voting and all the rest voted for it. There were many thoughtful people, including a majority of Rhode Islanders, who thought that prohibition might do more harm than good. But they were completely outmatched by the temperance movement, whose motives and methods had much in common with the movement to stop climate change. Deeply sincere people thought they were saving humanity from the evils of alcohol, just as many people now sincerely think they are saving humanity from the evils of CO2.

I am an astrologer with a most prodigious and prolific resume in my extensive studies in the forum of science, astrology, and celestial bodies dictating the actions of earthlings destined to carry out of the wishes of the suns, stars, and milkway. I suppose my erudite conclusions might be lost on Mr. Schuster here, but it seems as though my brother astronomer above gets it: global warming is a myth. There’s literally no conclusive proof outside the direct proportional ratio of human-emitted carbons polluting the atmosphere and the subsequent warming of the earth that global warming exists. Furthermore, the sheer number of scientists and their overwhelming conclusive agreement that global warming exists conveiniently ignores the elephant in the room when they raise their collective, whining voice: they’re just scientists. All they have is science. Empirical evidence, probing studies, poignant evaluations…what worth do these things have? I am an astrologer, the only true science, and I can tell you that I have found nothing in the alignment of the planets or the gravitation pull of the moons of Uranus that leads me to believe global warming is real. All these “studies” are well and good, but they lack intuition, gut feelings, and hunches. You can only trust yourself in this world, but I think when there is such a mountain of evidence going against you, it’s time to cash in your chips and put an ass hat on your head.

Another tax that few understand that they are paying, just what we need.

I love how “carbon-based” life forms complain about “carbon-based” economy. These people are just human haters. We are on the cusp of an era of great CO2 prosperity. CO2 is not a pollutant. Now, go plant a garden… plant killer.

Earth on the Brink of an Ice Age

The earth is now on the brink of entering another Ice Age, according to a large and compelling body of evidence from within the field of climate science. Many sources of data which provide our knowledge base of long-term climate change indicate that the warm, twelve thousand year-long Holocene period will rather soon be coming to an end, and then the earth will return to Ice Age conditions for the next 100,000 years.

I blame Bush.

Personally, I wish there was more pollution in the air. Our economy would thrive and everyone would be SO rich… not America rich, but communist China rich. I’d love to debate you about CO2, but I’ve got to get back to spraying 1980’s Aqua net into the atmosphere; that damn ozone layer’s getting way to thick again.

Real men are NOT Obama’s brainwashed lemmings. They THINK. They do NOT believe in Al Gore’s moronic tales. In spite of the mainstream media’s and the UN’s propaganda, the truth about global waming is coming out:

— Czech Republic President (and EU President) Klaus Blames Al Gore Charges to be made at international conference on climate change in New York on March 8th. http://newsblaze.com/story/20090305160010zzzz.nb/topstory.html

— Top Japanese Scientists: Global Warming Is NOT Caused By Human Activity. Western media completely ignores major report from Japans Energy Commission http://www.thecitizen.com/~citizen0/node/35420

— More than 650 international scientists expressed their dissent last year over the man-made global warming claims. They are more than 12 times the number of UN scientists (52) who authored the media-hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers. http://epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Minority.Blogs&ContentRecord_id=2674e64f-802a-23ad-490b-bd9faf4dcdb7

— More than 31,000 American scientists have signed onto a petition that states, “There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earths atmosphere and disruption of the Earths climate” http://www.petitionproject.org/index.html

Obama, however, is determined to force us to swallow the man-made global warming scam to impose communism on us. Billions have already been wasted because of this hoax and now Obama plans to steal from our children and grandchildren and waste many more billions to carry out moronic plans to control CO2.

Based on this hoax, Obama will limit development, increase the cost of energy and thus force factories and companies to close, and multiply poverty and unemployment. Based on this hoax, Obama will prevent the U.S. from becoming energy independent, and leave Americans at the mercy of scum like Hugo Chavez.

If not stopped, the global warming scam will enrich the scammers (Gore and Obamas fraudulent friends), increase the power of the U.N. and communists like Obama, and multiply poverty and servitude for the rest of us.

Hi everyone. The movies are the only business where you can go out front and applaud yourself. I am from Zealand and learning to read in English, tell me right I wrote the following sentence: “Ca montreal based travel agency, offering most comeititive cheap airline tickets, using one of the world best search and reservation engine.”
